Aptitude Rounds: Portion covered: distance and time, problems on train, ages, time and speed, percentage, area, flow charts, profit and loss, height and distance and some basics Maths and more. for english part study Barron_s_GRE.12th.ed, for aptitude R.S Aggarwal. study aptitude clearly you will clear 1st round..

Second Round is Technical:

Tell me about yourself.
Ans: simple questions to answer but everyone will make mistake by starting with their past school studies bla bla. Pleas note This is the single most important strategy in job hunting, start with present things eg: tell them something about you which you feel your are good at that.. I’m quick learner, I grasp point quickly, your resent achievement, why you took your course… listen to him/her carefully don't tell them to repeat. study some basic C for non tech branches and please don't mention C as known language in your resume.. and study your project work well almost all Q’s are based on your project work to see how really learner you are.. and prepare your resume with simple words..

Third Round HR :

1) about yourself?

2) What are your greatest strengths or weaknesses?
Ans: Beware – this is an eliminator question, designed to shorten the candidate list, if you admit your weakness thinking of being honest will get you an “A” for honesty, but an “F” for the interview.. the best way is to Disguise your strength as a weakness.. eg: I wont give up easily till i reached my goal and sometimes I push my people too hard to work with a sense of urgency and everyone is not always on the same wavelength (don't use these kind of words (wavelength..) but say alternately) never confess a regret..

3.Why this company?
Ans: before going learn much about that company and attend PPT( Pre Placement Talk) its very useful.. praise their company eg: its very employers friendly company etc etc.. in Wipro there is provision of 2yrs leave for higher education so tell them what you know very well about company..

4. Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Ans: no abroad strategy. eg: want to see myself in HR post employing people or want to c myself in PPT.

5. Any Question’s
Ans: don't sit idle ask something about company which you want to know.. eg: is there provision of becoming project leader in 2 r 3yrs provided if i do well.. or ask integral part of company how it will works as employers friendly environment. the key to success is be confident and bold don't get nervous once you enter inside.. prepare well have good strategy and speek fluently without fear you will definitely go through this company.

Hi Friends,
This is Smriti Roy, B.tech (IT) 2006-2010 batch from Bengal Institute of Technology and ,Management, Santiniketan . I had my Wipro off campus on Aryabhatta Institute of Engineering and Management Durgapur on 24th feb,2011.more than 300 people attend this drive, Selects a very few students. I was lucky enough to get selected.
First round was Aptitude.
They selected 120 after aptitude. Then filtered it to almost 50 after the technical and finally eliminated 18 after HR. So the final list was only 32 and my name was 5th in this list.
There were three sections as usual: (No negative mark but with sectional cutoff). Time:60min

Written test
And there were 3 sections

• Verbal: they asked mainly questions from Active and passive voice correction sentences, jumbled words, direct and indirect speech, questions from passage synonyms and antonyms. But it was easy only. (20 questions).
• Aptitude: Questions came from partnership, probability, ages, train models, business related problems, Time and distance, pipes, problems on basic quadratic equations. Agarwal book is sufficient 2 prepare for this section. (20 questions )
• Technical: Questions from C, Unix microprocessor, and some conversions from binary to digital so on. You can expect questions from any subject in this section. (10 questions) for this part I suggest you to brush your basic skills of c programming (Array, String, Pointer) actually I am from IT so I found this part easy. The cutoff varies for each dept

Note: Please attend all the questions. And all you need is 2 manage the time properly! give equal importance 2 all sections since v ve sectional cutoff. And I got cleared in 1st round. It was on 24th Feb 2011.
Technical Round
I entered in the hall at 10.30. After that we were told to write an essay on the given topic. You will be given 10 mins time be careful. Even there is no elimination in this round this will be asked in your technical round. This is to test your communication skills. in this round there is huge elimination there was 5-6 panels only 18 people cleared this round on that day I was among one of them.
To clear Technical round your basics should be clear and one should not loose confidence in between the interview
I entered the interviewers cabin at 6:45pm with full hope .in this round you have to submit the essay sheet. My mind was completely blank! one sir was there.
Then he started with questions like:

Interviewer: ok smriti,,what is your fav programming language?
me: i said c++ sir...
Interviewer: why?
me: said ....
Interviewer: if c++,java are high level languages so we use c programming till now?
me: explained...he was very impressed with my answer..
Interviewer: Types of Data Structure?
me: Linear and Non Linear and told the definition as well with examples

Interviewer: what are the features of oops?
me: explained
Interviewer: so what is link list? explain. give a real example of link list..
me: told.
Interviewer: den he asked for my all testimonials...then he asked me some questions from data structure.
Interviewer: so u know software engineering...what is SDLC? what is waterfall model?
me: told
Interviewer: what is last stage of SDLC?and 2nd last phase of SDLC?
me: told.
Interviewer: what are the layers of OSI model?
me: told
Interviewer: then he told me this is your last question Smriti tell me why we are using this layer concept in networking?
me: Sir for communication purpose...
Interviewer: how?
me: explained.

After that he asked me if I had any questions ?i said no sir...actually i was not expecting positive response from his side that is Why have not ask any question because in the first half they reject a huge no of peoples
after that in viewer said: "you are selected smriti, take this form"...
gave me the application to be filled in order to proceed to the HR round
i was really happy.
but intw told me to take my essay sheet but that sheet was supposed to be submitted...
after clearing the tech round, we have to fill the hr form. I took a deep breathe and started 2 fill my application with hope...it was already 8pm...so,hr told us to come next day morning for hr interview
HR Round:
Next day HR asked me to submit the essay sheet.
I was waiting in a hall for call from HR. One after the other candidates came into the hall. We started chatting inside the hall. HR called one by one and each person was questioned for about 5 mins. It was my turn at 11am I entered in the hr cabin there was a lady inside the cabin...
I wished her good morning with a smile. She smiled back and wished me too. And my questions were
Interviewer: so what is your name?
me: Smriti Roy, mam
inw: tell me some thing about urself..
me: told
inw: so do u have all your testimonials with u?
me: yes mam..
inw: any gap in study?
me: no mam.

Interviewer: ok smriti,,dats it results ll be declared soon you will be informed by Aryabhatta's TPO.
me: ok mam thanks

They will test your communications skills here.
don't take this round casually. this is also elimination round.

4th march I got a mail from college TPO. fortunately my name was there only 32 people were selected in this drive now m waiting for the Joining letter Those were memorable moments of my life Wished 2 share with you friends, I did. don't lose hope. Its very important, to be confident enough. You can do it.

WIPRO Came To Our Campus on May 6th and 7th as a on compus.
The Wipro Selection Procedure:

1. ASP
2. Technical Interview
3. HR Interview

Written Test :
Aptitude test: There were Three Sections.
1.Verbal-20 Qns
Syn-2
Ant-2
Idioms-2
Passage-5 marks
Active/passive voice-4
Direct/indirect-4.
It was bit easy..sectional cutoff for all 3 sections..in verbal I think 10..

2.Quantz-20 qns
Age-2
Time and Distance-2
Train -2
Number series -2
Time/work-2
Some logical qns very easy to clear this section only if u r through with R.S aggarwal..
6 or 7 Qns r very easy..(no need practice)
5 Qns moderate..
only 5 qns r tough..

3.Technical-10 qns
Here is the elimination ..if u get through into next round .u sud put more pressure on this section..
No problem I have a soln..get a gate 2011(IT) book and solve c qns defintly 2 or 3 qns frm this.
3 or 4 qns from c programs..
Unix-1,dont get affraid only basic qns..
ds-(infix to postfix form)very important..
and basic hardware qns.
Technical Interview:
From 400 students 140 cleard aps,and there were 7 panels.

• sir:tel me wht r u subjects u know in ur stream(iam frm IT)
• me:dbms,ds,os,networks..
• sir:he starts qns frm networks..wht r al the OSI layers
• me:told.
• sir:wht s physical layer.
• me:told.
• sir:then he was deeply into the networks,
• me:iam struggled and said sir iam not familiar with networks,i realy intrested in dbms..
• sir:ok.tel me about ddl, dml..
• me:told with a confidence.i was explained with example..
• me:my interview last for 45 mins (i had a qns frm dbms 30 mins)so frnds be confident atleast concentrate one subject from your stream),i told all the qns correctly.
• sir:he smiled and give the hr form..and said do well in hr.
• me:hand shaked and thanks sir

HR Interview:
From 140 students 75 cleard technical interviewand my turn to hr
sir:tel me abt ur self..
me:told with confidence..one kindly req to al(u sud say other than wht u r put in ur resume) strength,goals,hobbies,achievments in ur academics)
sir:he impresed with my answer.
sir:do u hav any backlog.
me:no sir..
sir:do u hav any qns..(frnds there is elumination in hr also so if u r asked for these kind of qns dont say i dont know,you sud SAY some qns to him)
me:sir,wipro is the first company certified as SEICMM LEVEL 5 standard..wht s meant by that sir.
sir:he really impressed and told for 5 mins..and said u got it.
me:yes sir,thanks sir..
Finally result announced out 75 only 70 cleard iam also amoung one of them ..I really happy..
so frnds dont lose ur confident wipro is my 20th company. Tcs is my first company I was rejected from hr round.inally god gave me golden oppurtunity tats wipro...
I REALLY PROUD TO BA A PSNA STUDENT. ALL THE DO WELL SEE YOU IN WIPRO...
Verbal Ability:
The first few questions were on synonyms type.
The second section, choosing an appropriate articles.
Third and fourth sections were paragraphs ( two paragraphs), one on E - Commerce and another on DBMS - database management systems.
Analytical Reasoning:

• In this section, some questions were very easy, and some were confusing. This section consumes more time so you should do it at last.
• First 5 to 6 questions were based on Vendiagrams ( Refer R. S. Agarwal Verbal & Non - Verbal Reasoning Puzzle Test chapter), Percentage and profit loss.
• Another 5 questions on BODMAS rule.
• Another 5 questions on replacing 0 with * and 1 with $.
• Another 5 to 6 questions were on Cubes ( Refer R. S. Agarwal Verbal & Non - Verbal Reasoning)

Hai guys n gals,  My name is N. Sunil Kumar . I have been selected for wipro company. So I want to share my experience with u and also some guide lines to u. First I want to reveal u wipro recruitment process.

It consists of three rounds:
1.  Written exam
2.  Technical Round
3.  HR round

Written exam consists of 50 questions with 1 hr duration. 50 questions are divided in to 3 parts:
1.  Verbal
2.  Aptitude, reasoning and puzzles
3.  Technical

Wipro selection from written exam to technical includes sectional cut off
1. For verbal: 6 – 8
2 .For Aptitude, reasoning and puzzles: 6 – 8
3. For technical: 4 – 5 for non – it and 8 – 10 for CSE and IT students.

So, students getting prepare for wipro should concentrate on all 3 parts to clear your 1st round.

1. GRE BARRONS
2. GENERAL ENGLISH GRAMMAR
3. OBJECTIVE ENGLISH by R.S. AGARWAL

For reasoning, puzzles and Aptitude
1. Quantitative Aptitude by R.S. AGARWAL
2. verbal and non verbal reasoning by R.S. AGARWAL
3. General puzzles.

For technical:
For C:
1. Exploring C by yashvanth kanetkar
2. test your C skills by yashvanth kanetkar
3. test your skills in C by S thamarai selvi ( TATA mc graw hill edition)

Mainly this round consist of questions from C, C++, UNIX, DBMS, CN, OS, JAVA, LINUX,DATA STRUCTURES compulsory and rarely MICRO PROCESSORS, STLD
Questions:
Verbal 15 questions:

2 Questions from active and passive voice (be thorough in this, here it is easy to score but options will be confusing be careful)
5 Questions from comprehension passage
2 Questions meanings
2 Questions sentence completion
1 R 2 questions will be in the form of

In the following sentence one important punctuation-mark is missing select the suitable signs from the given alternatives. what a pity
a)""  b)?  **c)!  d):
If u r GRE student it is easy to clear verbal if u r not also it is not so much tough read grammar which u have learned in school and rarely they will also ask antonyms and synonyms and analogies from GRE barrons same questions as it is. So please go through those also.
Coming to 2nd part

Here questions from aptitude will be mostly from
1. Problems on trains.
2. Series completion
3. Simple and compound intrest
4. Areas
5. Ages
6. Insert the missing character

And rarely from
1. Calendars,
2. Clocks
3. Chain rule
4. Time and work
5. Time and distance
6. Ratio and proportion
7. Averages
8. Permutations and combinations
9. Probability

And for reasoning go through r.s.agarwal
And questions mostly from
1. Direction sense test
2. Coding – decoding
3. Blood realations
4. Number ranking & time sequence test
5. Cubes and dice
6. Insert the missing charcter

And for puzzles there are no general books those u can answer by just thinking once.
In general, 20 questions of technical
C – 2 to 3questions
C++ -  2 to 3 questions

And remaining all 1 to 2 questions.
If u are non it student its enough u prepare c perfectly. Perfection ness in C is achieved by reading EXPLORING C mentioned above and just have a basic concepts of all above. I have those if u want those material u mail to my mail id I will forward to u.
That’s it and once after getting through 1st round for technical For non IT students u should perfect in
1. C
2. DATA STRUCTURES
3. C++ (basic definitions n concepts) why C++? Similar to that
4. OS
5. CN

Above subjects are compulsory for non IT students and in C and Data Structures u should also thorough in writing logics for programs.  Remember here while writing logics for programs he mainly check your confidence level. At that time u should not fear, be confident that u r saying correct.
And CSE students in their respective fields should perfect all.
And in HR round:

Here all general questions about your hobbies, tell me about your self, why wipro, here they check your confidence and your way of expression so be sure in that and never loose in HR round.
Those are the guide lines now, have my paper pattern:

In verbal
I got
2 questions from active to passive
5 from comprehension passage
2 sentence completion
3 meanigs
2 sentence correction

In aptitude
1 form problems on trains
1 from insert the missing character
1 from series completion
1 from blood relations
5 questions from puzzles
And remaing reasoning

In technical
I got 3 questions from C (questions as it is from exploring c)
1 from Micro processor
1 from CO
2 from C++
2 from UNIX

1 from 0S and remaining questions I don’t know because as I am from ECE I don’t to which subject those belong.
In my technical interview

First I was asked

He: Tell me about linked list for 2 minutes.

Me: Done

He: program for Fibonacci sequence’
Me: Done

He: What are main objectives?
Me: Said

He: Applications

He: About scheduling in os

He: Ok boss I have been satisfied and gave HR application

HR Round:

She: Tell me about your self

And  She asked many more questions and at last any questions I asked about six sigma standard of Wipro Company and that’s it she asked me to leave.
And my interview completed at evening 7.20 pm and results announced at 9.15pm my name was there and I am happy.
